Wave dark matter and ultra-diffuse galaxies

چکیده
Dark matter as a Bose-Einstein condensate, such the axionic scalar field particles of String Theory, can explain coldness dark on large scales. Pioneering simulations in this context predict rich wave-like structure, with ground state soliton core every galaxy surrounded by halo excited states that interfere de Broglie scale. This scale is largest for low mass galaxies momentum lower, providing simple explanation wide cores dwarf spheroidal galaxies. Here we extend these "wave matter" ($\psi$DM) predictions to newly discovered class "Ultra Diffuse Galaxies" (UDG) resemble but more extended stellar profiles. Currently best studied example, DF44, has uniform velocity dispersion $\simeq 33$km/s, extending at least 3 kpc, show reproduced our $\psi$DM radius 0.5$ kpc. In context, relatively flat profile DF44 lies between massive compact dense solitons, may be present Milky Way 100pc and lower where declines centrally within wide, density soliton, like Antlia II,

Dark Matter Halos around Galaxies
We present evidence that all galaxies, of any Hubble type and luminosity, bear the kinematical signature of a mass component distributed differently from the luminous matter. We review and/or derive the DM halo properties of galaxies of different morphologies: spirals, LSBs, ellipticals, dwarf irregulars and dwarf spheroidals. We show that the halo density profile Mh(x) = Mh(1) (1 + a ) x3 x2 +...
متن کاملMolecular dark matter in galaxies
Context. Clouds containing molecular dark matter in quantities relevant for star formation may exist in minihaloes of the type of cold dark matter included in many cosmological simulations or in the regions of some galaxies extending far beyond their currently known boundaries. Aims. We have systematically explored parameter space to identify conditions under which plane-parallel clouds contain...
متن کاملBaryonic Dark Matter in Galaxies
Cosmological nucleosynthesis calculations imply that many of the baryons in the Universe must be dark. We discuss the likelihood that some of these dark baryons may reside in the discs or halos of galaxies. If they were in the form of compact objects, they would then be natural MACHO candidates, in which case they are likely to be the remnants of a first generation of pregalactic or protogalact...
متن کاملHI and dark matter in spiral galaxies
We still do not have a “standard” model for the mass distribution of spiral galaxies. I review various methods used to delimit the range of values of the mass-to-light ratio of the disk, such as spiral structure criteria, the influence of bars, warped and flaring HI layers, velocity dispersions, and features in the rotation curve occuring just beyond the optical radius. It is not yet clear whet...
